As a mother and a doula I understand how vital compassionate, culturally competent care is during the fourth trimester and beyond.
Hello! My name is
Teresa Jennings, BS, IBCLC
I’m a passionate advocate for Black maternal health and a strong believer in the power of representation in postpartum and lactation care.
In 2014, I earned my Bachelor’s in Health Science from the University of South Florida . With over seven years of experience supporting birth clients—and three years as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (since 2022)—I’ve dedicated my career to helping families feel safe, supported, and seen.
In 2025, I rebranded my practice from Doulas for Life to Sage and Sunflower Care—a name rooted in healing, wisdom, and growth.
While I center the experiences of Black families and advocate for change in a system that has historically failed them, I welcome and care for all families. Every family is a seed, and with love, intention, and education, we help them bloom with confidence.
I’m a proud mom of three young men and have been with my amazing spouse for 18 years. My family and community are what push me to create real change for Maternal/Postpartum Care in the U.S , while holding space for families to heal and thrive in the present.

Through a combination of expert lactation support, postpartum care, and family education, we're committed to helping each family write its own unique story of parenthood—one that's grounded in confidence, understanding, and joy.
